Getting started

Sign in, pick a plan, create a database, allowlist your IP, then connect with SSL.

Steps

  1. Sign in with Google or GitHub and accept the Terms and Privacy Policy.
  2. Subscribe to a plan (Free is available immediately; higher plans may show Coming soon until billing is live).
  3. Create a database: pick an engine and version your plan allows, choose a name, then wait until status is Active.
  4. Copy the connection details shown once after create (or reset the password later if you need to).
  5. Add the public IP of every machine that will connect (app server, CI, or office network).
  6. Connect with SSL using the host and port from the dashboard.

Engines and isolation

QubicDB can run PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, and Redis. Your plan decides which engines you may create and how many of each.

  • Shared: your database shares capacity with other tenants (logical isolation). Typical for Free SQL engines.
  • Dedicated: your database gets reserved capacity with plan resource limits. Typical for MongoDB and Redis on higher plans.

If an engine shows no capacity on create, that plan has no free slots right now. Try another engine your plan allows, or check Status.

Create a database

In the dashboard, open Databases, then Create. Pick an engine and version, choose a database name, and submit.

Status starts as Provisioning. Wait until it is Active before you connect from your app or a client.

The password is shown only once after create. Store it in your secrets manager or env config before you leave the page. If you lose it, use Reset password on the database detail page.

Before you connect

  • Add each connecting public IP under Databases → your database → IP allowlist. Connections from other addresses are blocked.
  • Copy host, port, database name (or equivalent), username, and password from the dashboard. Do not invent values.
  • Require TLS/SSL in your client (for PostgreSQL use sslmode=require).

If you delete the database

Delete permanently removes that database and its login. Old connection strings stop working. Create a new database if you still need one.
